Correct S-Video - SCART connectors
It is fairly difficult to find a correct S-Video-2-SCART connector in Greece. Most implementations feature low-quality connectors, sometimes even ignoring the color signal, showing a grayscale TV display! After some googling, I've found a solution to this problems...
In order to make a DIY solution, I followed the instructions of geo.gr and of an article in cicoandcico.co. They proved quite efficient. You actually need to connect both non-ground outputs of the S-Video interface to a single SCART pin. There are several TV's that do not require that, but it is a more general solution. In fact, I have not used the proposed capacitor, but the result is satisfactory, if one only uses the TV set for watching Lost! You should not fear tampering with the SCART jack, it is very easy to change the way cables are connected...
